Dynasty Heroes

China in the year 189 is a land of civil war and strife.  After murdering the young Emperor, corrupt politician Zhongying has risen to the rank of Prime Minister and installed the late Emperor’s younger brother on the throne as a puppet.  A coalition of lords have gathered their armies and marched on the capital to thwart Zhongying’s evil plans.

Zhongying, fearing defeat at the hands of the coalition, contrives a plan to save his reign.  Forcing the young puppet Emperor to put his crown on the line, the lords of the land are welcomed into the capital to fight in a series of one-on-one competitions to name the new Emperor.  The competition is split into a dozen three-man teams.

This is the story of one of those teams.

Xuande (Shoo-wan-tay): The team manager.  Once upon a time he raised a volunteer army to fight against the Yellow Rebellion, swearing an oath of brotherhood with two great warriors, Yunchang and Yide.  Semi-retired as a small-town magistrate, he is thrust into the conflict by his old friend and classmate.

 

 

 

 

 

Lord Bogui (Boh-gwee): The team ‘owner’.  Known as the White General, he is a hero of the northern wars against the Mongolian tribes.  One of the members of the coalition, he convinces Xuande and his oath-brothers to join him and fight under his banner for the tournament.

 

 

 

 

Yunchang (Yoon-chahng): The balanced fighter of the group, he is strong both offensively and defensively.  Sometimes called the Great Beard, he is very calm and collected.  He desires to fight strong opponents to prove his own strength.

 

 

 

 

 

Yide (Yee-day): The tank of the group, he is strong and defiant in the face of adversity.  A bit of a drunkard, he is the class clown of the group and enjoys a good fight almost as much as he enjoys a good, stiff drink.

 

 

 

 

 

Zilong (Zee-lohng): The berserker of the group, she is very quick and deadly.  Lord Bogui’s greatest warrior, she wants to prove herself to everyone and desires to help out the team.

 

 

 

 

Zhongying (Johng-yeeng): The corrupt minister who has put the whole tournament together.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Emperor Xian (Shee-Ann): After his older brother is murdered, he becomes a puppet ruler for Zhongying.
